Without the dedication of our donors the Siouxland Community Blood Bank would not be able to supply blood products to hospitals such as Buena Vista County Hospital that we serve.

On March 22, the SBB held a blood drive in Alta at the Community Center and registered 27 people and a total of 20 units were collected. As always, Alta saw five new donors. There is a first time for everything and a first time donor is awesome. We want to send out special thanks to the donors who reached milestones in their giving.

Judy Otto, Tim Lookabill and Marilyn Huseman each reached the one gallon mark.

We would like to thank Marilyn Huseman for coordinating the blood drive in Alta. Special thanks also to the City of Alta for the use of the Community Center. Also a special thanks to all the donors.

The Siouxland Community Blood Bank serves all the blood needs of our 16 area hospitals and their patients. The only way blood products are made available for area patients is if individuals in our communities volunteer to donate blood on a regular basis.
