Letter to the Pilot

In search of a paratrooper

To The Editor,

When I read your online edition from Storm Lake, it brought back a WWII memory.

My Jumpmaster at parachute school in Ft. Benning, GA, Merle Bolt was from Storm Lake. I was from Muscatine. I went on for a career in the service and lost track of Merle. I'm not Awards and Memorials chairman for the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment Association.

If anyone in Storm Lake knows of Merle, PLEASE tell him that a jump school trainee would like to say "AIRBORNE." Merle, I still remember you after all of these years.
