The Storm Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Storm Lake Area Development Corporation have combined their organization's annual banquet to celebrate the successes of the year 2005. Several awards to outstanding members will be handed out Tuesday, Jan. 24 starting at 6 p.m. in the Siebens Forum on the BVU campus.
This year's banquet keynote speaker is Jack Shultz, author of Boomtown USA, The 71/2 Keys to Big Success in Small Towns. Schultz's book published in early 2004 has spawned a nonstop tour of speaking engagements across the country. The engagements don't grow old for Schultz, because he has a burning passion for sharing the keys that help communities prosper. Key #5 is Encourage an Entrepreneurial Approach. This key is vital to a community's economic future. If this has not been your town's focus, it's time for a paradigm shift. Towns that recognize the strength of the entrepreneur and learn to encourage them will find themselves on a positive growth curve. Schultz, an entrepreneur himself, shares the hows and the whys, the dos and the don'ts, behind this key to build that brighter future. Schultz's message just might change the course of your thinking and the future of our community.
Tickets for this event are $30. Please RSVP by calling the Storm Lake Chamber of Commerce and Area Development at 732-3780.
