Board approves hiring new assistant county attorney

Thursday, January 12, 2006

The Buena Vista County Board of Supervisors Tuesday approved hiring Meghann Cosgrove-Whitmer as a new assistant county attorney to replace former Assistant County Attorney Dave Patton. Patton was fired after being charged in a youth party incident.

County Attorney Phil Havens asked the Board to approve Cosgrove-Whitmer at a part-time salary of $39,000 yearly.

Cosgrove-Whitmer has worked in private practice with her father, Thaddeus, who has a long-established law practice in Holstein and Ida Grove.
