Abortion foe banned from picket line

Wednesday, December 14, 2005

A judge has permanently barred an abortion opponent from picketing near a health clinic.

Dan Holman is prohibited from going within 100 feet of the Emma Goldman Clinic in Iowa City and must stay that distance away from the clinic's executive directors and their homes.

Holman has said he believes the Bible mandates their execution of abortion providers, although he said he has not intention of harming them. He also has reportedly been seen carrying signs that read "Dead Doctors Can't Kill."

Holman, 58, of Keokuk, called the injunction "unjust" and intends to appeal. "The fact that the court does not recognize the humanity of the pre-born child is the real problem here," he said.
