SL Springers Blue team places seventh in meet

OWATONNA, Minn. - The Storm Lake Springers gymnastics Blue team competed in the M.A.G.A. Division Two Championship meet last Saturday in Owatonna, Minn.

The Blue team placed seventh in the team standings with 128 points.

For individual events, ribbons were given for sixth through 12th place, medals for second through fifth place, and trophies for first place. Team score is determined by the top four scores in each event.

In the novice 9-and-under division, Ashley Anderson placed in five events with a second on floor exercise, third on bars, and fourth on beam, vault and all-around.

Nicole Martin placed in five events with a first on bars and third on vault, floor, beam and all-around. Lesa Turnquist placed fifth on bars, beam, floor, vault and all-around.

In the children age 10-11 category, Kayla Block placed in five events with a second on beam, third on floor exercise, fourth in all-around, sixth on bars and seventh on vault. Krystina Furst placed in four events with an eighth on vault, 10th on floor, and 12th on beam and all-around.

In the junior age 12-13 division, Ali Brashears placed in five events with a first on floor exercise, second on vault and all-around, third on beam, and 10th on bars.

Priscilla Otto placed eighth on bars, while Megan Benz contributed team scores on bars, beam and floor. Abby Richardson contributed team scores on bars, floor and vault.
