Chamber discusses Altatude Days, website and Ragbrai
A discussion on whether or not the Alta Chamber of Commerce should host Altatude Days topped the chamber meeting this week.
The community has not held the event in the past three to four years and the chamber discussed whether the event would benefit the community.
"As always this is something that will take a lot of volunteers," chamber president Joe Aube said. "I think the question is do we want to do this? I think to get more people involved in the chamber and the community we have to have projects and events available for them."
The chamber discussed the possibility of hosting a trade fair in conjunction with the Altatude Days. The trade fair would give those in the area an opportunity to showcase their business.
In the past the Altatude Days have been held in June, July or August at the city park, Main Street and the community center.
"I think anything we can do to get out and be exposed will help," chamber member Darell DePrez said.
Aube said he would like to see a committee formed to start working on the Altatude Days. "With new people and new ideas we can show people that there's something here," he said.
