You'll find her in the lunchroom every day of the week, preparing nutritious meals to feed the stomachs of hungry Alta students.
Jennie Walsh has been a part of the hot lunch program in the Alta school district for the past 27 years and said she's enjoyed being a part of the student's growing up.
"I really enjoy the cooking and the students," Jennie said. "I feel the parents are entrusting us with their children's nutrition and we try to help get them started off right in the mornings with breakfast and give them a healthy dinner at noon."
Walsh is the head cook at the Alta high school and works with six other school cooks each week.
"It's really a team effort, it takes all of us," Jennie said. "All the cooks are very committed as we're very busy. It's takes a lot of hard work to feed all these students."
The purpose of the hot lunch program is to provide nutritionally sound meals to the students in the school, something the Alta cooks take great pride in.
