Bridal Reflections owner moves in a new direction

Thursday, March 22, 2001

Norm Knoke is closing the doors at the Bridal Reflections store, after 11 years of running the Lake Avenue business.

Though Knoke said he'll miss the store, he's ready to slow down and move in another direction.

Knoke has been in the retail business since 1956, when he began working for a chain of Grahams Department stores. He came to Storm Lake in 1973 when he was transferred with the Grahams business. In 1979, Knoke decided to go on the road for a while before returning to Storm Lake in 1981 to work at Douglass Clothing. Knoke and his wife, Sandy, purchased Bridal Reflections in 1990.

Knoke was hoping to sell the Bridal Reflections business and the building together. When Bob Hall of Hall Real Estate approached Knoke about the building, Knoke said he felt it was the right time to get out of retail.

There are two main reason behind the closing of Bridal Reflections.

"I want to slow down," Knoke said. "I'm 65 years old, I think it's time."
