Fundraiser to turn SLHS student center into coffeehouse

Thursday, March 22, 2001

The Storm Lake High School I-JAG (Jobs for America's Graduates) students will be holding a fundraiser on Thursday, March 22.

Part of the student center at the high school will become Java JAG Coffeehouse as Mark Redenbaugh, from Abner Bell's Coffeehouse, has agreed to partner with I-JAG students to help in this fundraiser.

Espresso-based drinks will be served to SLHS students and staff from 7:30 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. (closed 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.) in the student center with I-JAG students assisting. Flavored and unflavored lattes, as well as mochas flavored with Ghiradelli chocolate will be sold.

High school staff and students will provide entertainment such as poetry reading, folk singing and speeches throughout the day. Several classes will meet in the coffeehouse and students are also encouraged to visit during their study halls.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards the Career Development Conference that all I-JAG students will attend.
