Lucille Runyan

Lucille Runyan, 84, of Stratford passed away at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City on Saturday evening, Nov. 12.

She was born on October 22, 1921 in rural Stratford, the daughter of John and Agnes (Anderson) Carlstedt.

On October 12, 1940, she married Clifford C. Runyan at her parents' home in Stratford.

Lucille was a 1939 graduate of Stratford High School. She currently was employed at the Stratford Care Center in the laundry department where she had worked for over 30 years. Lucille enjoyed quilting, crocheting and doing crafts.

She was a member of the South Marion United Methodist Church where she was a very active member.

Her parents and husband Clifford in May of 1996 preceded her in death.

Survivors include five daughters - Betty Runyan of Ft. Dodge, Nancy Runyan of Stratford, Colleen Milburn and her husband Richard of DeSoto, Linda DeVore and husband Stan of Chariton, Rose Dopita and husband Mike of Ft. Dodge; four sons - Gene Runyan of Stratford, Ed Runyan and wife Davene of Boone, Larry Runyan and wife Kim of Stratford, Ron Runyan of Fargo, N.D., 16 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

Services will be held Thursday morning, Nov. 17th at 10 a.m. at the South Marion United Methodist Church south of Stratford with Lay Minister Gina Spohnheimer and Pastor Remigio Panlaqui officiating.

Interment will be in the South Marion Cemetery south of Stratford.

Memorials may be given to the South Marion United Methodist Church.

Stark-Welin Funeral Directors in Stratford, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.

Ethel M. Prescott

Ethel M. Prescott, age 94, of Omaha, Nebraska and formerly of Storm Lake, died Saturday, Nov. 12 at Comfort Care in Omaha.

Memorial service were held on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 11:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Burial was in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Iowa State University.

Ethel Marie Rupert was born on November 7, 1911, in Bloomfield, Neb. to William J. and Elizabeth (Semlier) Rupert. She lived with her family in Bloomfield, Neb. where she attended and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1929. Her education was furthered at Iowa State University in Ames, receiving her degree in Home Economics in 1933.

On February 15, 1936, Ethel was united in marriage to Dr. Kenneth Prescott in Rockport, Miss.. To this union, two sons were born, Steven and Charles. The Prescott family lived in Los Angeles, Calif., before moving to Rockport, Miss and to Mountain Home, Tenn. In 1947, Ethel and Kenneth settled in Storm Lake. She was a loving mother and proud homemaker.

Ethel was a member of the Storm Lake United Methodist Church. She loved gardening and spending time outdoors. Her passion for the outdoors was evident by the love she had for the birds and squirrels. Spending time with her family as a mother and grandmother was especially important to Ethel. Homemaking was a true talent of Ethel's, as she was a wonderful cook and hostess.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Steven Prescott of Las Cruses, N. M. and Charles Prescott and his wife Wanda of Omaha, Neb.; two grandchildren, Christine Jacobsen and Nicholas Prescott and two great grandchildren, Hannah Jacobsen and Elise Prescott, all of Omaha, Neb.; and extended family and friends.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dr. Kenneth Prescott (1992).

Vanh Sriharath

May 18, 1939

Vanh Sriharath, age 66, of Storm Lake, died Friday, Nov. 11 at his home in Storm Lake.

Traditional Buddhist rites were held Sunday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial was in the Storm Lake Cemetery.

Vahn was born May 18, 1939 to Southa and Chandy Sriharath in Lao. He attended school through the eighth grade.

In 1976, Vanh was united in marriage to Vanly in Lao. This union was blessed with four children: Khemphorn, Kesone, Phetsamon and Nathan. He and Vanly moved to Storm Lake where he was employed at Tyson Fresh Meats, until his health declined.

Survivors include his wife, Vanly of Storm Lake, his four children and one brother. He was preceded in death by his parents.
