Monday, March 19, 2001

The Storm Lake Police were dispatched to Malarky's Pub on Flindt Drive at 2:15 a.m. Thursday for a report of a stolen vehicle.

Police learned that the owner of a Chevy S-10, Ryan Weber, of Hinton, had given his keys to Clark Pitts, 19, of Hinton, at approximately 11 p.m. to retrieve something from the truck. Pitts left with the truck and never came back.

At 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, a Storm Lake Police officer, who was on patrol, observed the stolen vehicle in the 1200 block of East Lakeshore Drive. The officer stopped the vehicle and took Pitts into custody.

Pitts was charged with an .02 alcohol violation. Police also charged Pitts and a passenger, Seth Nicoson, 18, of LeMars, with Operation Without Owners Consent, an aggravated misdemeanor.

Both subjects were booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on $6,500.00 cash bond.
