The Pocahontas County Sheriff's Office and the Laurens Police Department received a call of a bomb threat at the Laurens-Marathon School at approximately 9:18 a.m. Thursday. The school was immediately evacuated and the area was sealed off.
Pocahontas County Sheriff Bob Lampe said the fire marshal's office was called, and with the aid of a bomb-sniffing dog, the school was searched and cleared. School reconvened Friday.
Sheriff Lampe said Thursday there was no threat of any danger. The investigation is ongoing.
