*An accident happened at 7:45 a.m. last Tuesday at the intersection of Hyland Drive and Northwestern Drive. A 1992 Oldsmobile, driven by Dianne Leonard, 46, 712 Cover Lane, Storm Lake, was northbound on Northwestern Driven when a pedestrian crossed the road in front of her. The Leonard vehicle swerved to miss the pedestrian and struck a fire hydrant. Damages were estimated at $2,000 to the Leonard vehicle.
*An accident happened in the Midtown Service pump area near the intersection of East 5th Street and Flindt Drive shortly after 2:15 p.m. last Tuesday. A 1992 Chevy, driven by Ann Pyle, 88, Storm Lake, was pumping gas into her vehicle at Midtown Service, 1100 East 5th Street and went to pay. Before driving away she forgot to remove the gas pump. Damages were estimated at $1,000 to the gas pump and none to the Pyle vehicle.
*An accident happened in the 1100 block of West 5th Street at 6 p.m. last Tuesday. A 1994 Buick, driven by William Patton, 69, 917 Emerald Drive, Storm Lake, was westbound on West 5th Street when a 1995 Chevrolet, driven by Shonda Nelson, 20, 1117 West 5th Street, Storm Lake, was backing out of a driveway and the vehicles collided. Damages were estimated at $500 to the Patton vehicle and $100 to the Nelson vehicle.
*An accident happened sometime between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Grand Avenue. A 1997 Ford, owned by Lucas Koster, of Newell, was parked facing south when an unknown vehicle struck the Koster car and left the scene. Damages were estimated at $100 to the Koster vehicle.
*An accident occurred at the intersection of Cayuga Street and East 4th Street shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday. A 1990 Pontiac, driven by Judith Wymore, 29, Alta, was backing from a parking space at the Storm Lake Post Office when a 1994 Ford, driven by Jeanette Osegaro, 58, 805 610th Street, Storm Lake, was driving through the lot and the vehicles collided. Wymore was charged with Failure to Have Insurance. Damages were estimated at $400 to the Wymore vehicle and $1,000 to the Osegaro vehicle.
*An accident occurred in a private parking area near the intersection of Northwestern Drive and West 5th Street at 4:30 p.m. last Thursday. A 1993 Mercury, driven by Ubon Saengchanpheng, 18, Storm Lake, was reversing out of a parking spot and struck a light pole. Damages were estimated at $200 to the Saengchanpheng vehicle and $700 to the light pole, owned by Buena Vista Specialty Clinic.
*An accident happened at the intersection of East Milwaukee Avenue and Erie Street shortly after 10:15 a.m. last Friday. A 1992 Dodge, driven by Jason Marks, 24, Marcus, was stopped at the intersection. A 1988 Oldsmobile, driven by Jennifer Marks, 24, of Marcus, was behind the other Marks vehicle, failed to stop and the vehicles collided. Jennifer Marks was charged with Driving While Suspended. Damages were estimated at $50 to the Jennifer Marks vehicle and none to the Jason Marks vehicle.
*An accident occurred at 1001 East 9th Street at 11:15 p.m. last Friday. A 1998 Chevy, driven by Bounthanong Phiakhamta, 19, 1001 East 9th Street, Storm Lake, was backing out of the driveway when a 1999 Jeep, owned by Dennis Julius, 6223 80th Avenue, Storm Lake, was parked on the driveway and the Phiakhamta vehicle collided with the Julius car. Damages were estimated at $250 to the Julius vehicle and none to the Phiakhamta vehicle.
*An accident happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Lake Avenue. A 1994 Honda, driven by Vanh Khaleck, 26, 814 Walnut Street, Storm Lake, was northbound on the east lane of Lake Avenue. A 1995 Honda, driven by Jerry Phathaem, 18, 538 1/2 Russell Street, Storm Lake, was northbound on the west lane of Lake Avenue. The Khaleck vehicle blew a rear tire when it struck a pothole and lost control, striking the Phathaem vehicle. Damages were estimated at $1,000 to the Khaleck vehicle and $2,500 to the Phathaem vehicle.
*Marsha Rupert reported the theft of cash from her ATM card. $80 was withdrawn.
