Restoration of the venerable stone Chautauqua Shelterhouse got underway this week, as workers from Paul Park construction took turns at the backbreaking labor of breaking down the stone chimney.

The shelter will get a new roof, wood shingles, windows, doors, restrooms, covered patio and outdoor grill. Cost is estimated at $154,732, with work to be completed in late June.
