SCHALLER - The Schaller-Crestland volleyball team made quick work of Sac City here Monday night in a Class 1A, opening round district tournament game, sweeping the Indians 25-8, 25-9 and 25-15.
The Wildcats' balanced attack at the net was led by Laurie Nees, who finished with 11 kills. Jill Wedeking and senior Ayla Ringgenberg each added eight ace hits, with Kelli Carstensen recording six.
Nees was 18 of 18 in attacks, while Ringgenberg was 12 of 15 and Wedeking 14 of 18
Senior setter Kayla Bihrer finished with 33 set assists, ten digs and was 18 of 18 at the service line with three aces.
Ringgenberg added 14 digs, with Bihrer pitching in in the back row with ten digs. Lisa Kluver was 14 of 15 at the service line with one ace and six digs.
Andrea Cook added five kills on 12 of 13 hitting while Alyssa Alesch was nine of nine in serving with one ace and four digs.
As a team, the Wildcats served 94.5 percent, making good on 69 of 73 serves. They had eight blocks as a team and were 74 of 85 in attacks for 87 percent.
