Delores Jean Schultz

August 26, 1929 - September 28, 2005

Brown Deer Road, Coralville, died Wednesday, September 28, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City from complications of pneumonia, with her family at her side.

Memorial services were held Monday, October 3, at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Iowa City, with the Reverend Kyle Otterbein officiating. Following the service everyone was invited for a time of fellowship and refreshments in the fellowship hall of the church. Memorial donations can be made in Jean's memory either to the American Red Cross, St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, or to the University of Iowa Foundation, c/o Iowa Hawkeye Athletics. Delores Jean Schultz was born August 26, 1929, in Des Moines, the daughter of Lloyd and Leona (McClanahan) Stephen. She graduated from North High School in Des Moines in 1947. On November 6, 1949, she married Louis William Schultz in Des Moines. The couple lived in Des Moines and Decorah before settling in Marengo, Iowa. Here they raised their family and lived for over twenty years before moving to the Iowa City and Coralville area. Throughout the years when she worked outside their home she worked as a secretary, assisting her husband in his law practice, and in the Iowa City area as office manager for Director of Family Practice at Oakdale. Her true love was caring for her family.

In Iowa City, she was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church and University Women. In Marengo she was active in a number of organizations including 4-H and Girl Scouts. Jean loved tending to her flowers, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs, but most of all spoiling her six grandsons and granddaughter.

Her family includes her husband, Louis; daughter, Marcia K. Schultz, esq. and her husband, Randy Schmidt of Saipan, N. Mariana Islands; two sons and their wives, Dr. Mark Schultz and Shari of Storm Lake, and Paul Schultz and Julie of Iowa City; seven grandchildren, Stephen and Eric Schultz of Iowa City, Ryan, Ross, Collin, Casey, and Shannon Schultz all of Storm Lake; and her sister, Shirley Atkin of Pella.

Dorothea Wilson Jensen

April 30, 1917 - September 28, 2005

Dorothea Wilson Jensen, 88, of Storm Lake and formerly of Larrabee and Sutherland passed away Wednesday, September 28 at the Buena Vista Manor Care Center in Storm Lake.

Memorial services were held Monday, October 3 at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. The Rev. Dr. Beverlee Bell officiated. It was Dorothea's request to be cremated and her remains buried in Cedar Cemetery at Larrabee. There will be no visitation. The Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee has charge of the arrangements. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

Dorothea was born April 30, 1917 in Spring Township near Larrabee, to David L. "Roy" and Agnes (Elliot) Stanford. She attended country school and graduated from Brooke Consolidated School in 1935. She attended Sioux City Beauty Academy and followed that profession for several years.

She married Delbert Wayne Wilson on September 20, 1943 at Dakota City, Nebraska. He passed away in 1981. She and her husband Wayne moved to a farm south of Sutherland where they lived for 37 years. After Wayne died on December 13, 1981, she moved to Larrabee where she was active in the Larrabee United Methodist Church and the U.M.W. She was married to Ire Jensen in April of 1985 at Spirit Lake and the couple made their home in Storm Lake.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake; the Larrabee Rebekah Lodge, the National Daughters of the American Revolution and a 45 year member of the Homemaker Circle in Spring Township. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, playing cards and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Wayne, brothers James Keith Stanford, Robert Stanford and a sister Khirley Kearns and her husband Robert, a brother-in-law Richard Lockwood.

She is survived by her husband Ire and two sons; Kenneth Wilson and his wife Linda of Redwood Valley, California and their children Paige Wilson, Christian and Brenda Wilson and daughter Lensey; Emily Wilson; Steven Wilson and his wife Vicki of El Paso, Illinois and their children Cassandra Mattoon and son Collin; Amanda and Scott Thiessen and their children Jourdan and Jackson; Benjamin and Becky Wilson and daughter Zoie. Also two step-sons: Larry Jensen and family of Starbuck, Minnesota and Bob Jensen and family of Iowa Falls; two sisters: Darlyne Wright and her husband Melvin of Estherville; Phyllis Lockwood of Rochester, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
