Richard Gale Watts, age 64, of Storm Lake, died on Tuesday, September 20, at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, at Barker Funeral Home, Alta, with Rev. Duane Queen officiating. Burial will be at the Storm Lake Cemetery, Storm Lake.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 23, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the family present 6-8 p.m. at the Barker Funeral Home in Alta. Barker Funeral Home of Alta is in charge of the arrangements.

Richard G. Watts was born on October 18, 1940 to William Glen and Lydia Grace (Davis) Watts in Spencer.

On May 24, 1975, Richard was united in marriage to Sharon R. Ware. This union was blessed with two children, T.J. and Sonja. From a previous marriage, he had three sons, Martin, Trevor, and Bill and one daughter, Teresa.

Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with his family and friends. He will always be remembered as an easy going, fun-loving, sensitive man.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Sharon in 2002, and one granddaughter.

He is survived by six children, T.J., Sonja, Martin, Trevor, Bill, and Teresa; six grandchildren; one sister, Pam and her husband Bud Hopper; and many other relatives and friends.
