The Iowa Park and Recreation Association and Community Education are sponsoring a Youth Football "Placekick, Punt and Throw" competition on Saturday, Sept. 17 at Storm Lake High School Football Field.
Registration will begin at 1 p.m., with the competition starting at 1:30 p.m.. Entry fee for the program is $4. Parents must sign a waiver of liability form for his/her child and should pick up this form at Community Ed prior to the day of the event if he/she is not planning to attend during registration time.
The IPRA Placekick, Punt, and Throw football event has six age categories for competition: Boys & girls ages 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13. Age is determined as of date of the local competition. Boys and girls will placekick from a tee, punt and pass the football for both distance and accuracy. The best score of two attempts in each event are totaled for the overall score.
The top three participants in each age category advance to Districts to be held in Orange City - Saturday, October 22. The top three District finishers will advance to the State Finals on Saturday, October 29 at Iowa State University in Ames.
