What do you have when you bring together a deserving family, hundreds of volunteers and the generosity of community business leaders? A home - more specifically, a Habitat for Humanity home.
Buena Vista County Habitat for Humanity will dedicate its third completed home in a ceremony March 14 at 5:15 p.m. at the home, at 411 Superior Street. An open house will follow.
"The dedication ceremony provides an opportunity for the many Habitat friends, supporters and volunteers to come together," said Bob Ferguson, president of the BV County Habitat for Humanity.
The dedication ceremony marks the culmination of the work that began after the groundbreaking in June. The keys will be turned over to Elia Bravo and her five children.
"We encourage everyone to join in this special community-wide celebration. We hope, especially, that all the volunteers who worked on the home will join us for Wednesday's dedication. We would like to give them all a heart-felt 'thank you' for their efforts," Ferguson said.
Applications are now being accepted for a partner family to live in Storm Lake's upcoming fourth Habitat home. For more information, contact Susan Moore, 732-4950.
