New SL telecom firm tunes in to the public

With Storm Lakers starting to plug into McLeod USA cable television and Internet service, company representatives will host the first of several public information meetings this week in Storm Lake and Lakeside.

Popularity of high-speed cable modems is spurring McLeod to move as quickly as possible in hooking up new customers throughout the two towns.

Already residences on Storm Lake's west side have access to McLeod broadband Internet and cable television service. Phone service will be coming in the near future, said Marshall Damgaard, community planning and development specialist for McLeod USA.
