Hole-in-One contest added to Alzheimer's benefit day
Area golfers taking their best shot in support of Alzheimer services will now be able to shoot for a new $25,000 car thanks to Mark Hansen's Rex Chevrolet in Odebolt and Odebolt Nursing & Rehab Center.
Saturday, September 17 will be Alzheimer's Benefit Day at Sac County Golf and Country Club in Wall Lake. Western Iowans will be able to support families living with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders by participating in either a Memory Walk or Best Shot Golf Tournament.
The day will begin with an 8:30 Memory Walk Registration, with the Walk starting at 9 a.m. Next the 18-hole, 4-person Best Shot Golf Tournament will tee off with a 10:30 shotgun start. Events conclude with a lunch and the awarding of prizes. Cash prizes for the Best Shot Tournament will be awarded.
Registration for the Best Shot tournament will be $40 per golfer (lunch and cart rental are included).
All proceeds support services provided by the Alzheimer's Association through Buena Vista, Sac, Ida and Cherokee Counties. Throughout the four-county area, an estimated 1,750 adults over 65 have Alzheimer's disease or a related disorder. To register for the Memory Walk or Best Shot Tournament, call (800) 272-3900.
