Congressman Jim Nussle announced 99 county chairpersons this week in his campaign to become governor.
Gary Launderville will serve as Buena Vista County chair, leading the organization and volunteer efforts within the county.
"I'm honored to have such a strong team of county leaders joining me in the race for Governor of Iowa. The grassroots leadership that is being built now is the foundation for success later in this campaign," Nussle said.
Last Saturday, Congressman Nussle said he had completed visits to all 99th counties in his 40th day on the road since announcing his campaign.
Iowans for Nussle Campaign Manager Nick Ryan called the effort "the most extensive gubernatorial grassroots campaign in Iowa."
The county chairs are reaching out to new voters and signing up new volunteers, Ryan said.
Gary Launderville is a Buena Vista County Deputy Sheriff and a former candidate for sheriff. He resides in Storm Lake with his wife, Sandy, and 10 children in the household. Gary is a member of the Buena Vista County Republican Central Committee.
