Memorial services for Darwin L.B. Otto, 64, of Woodland, Wash., formerly of Galva, will be held at 11 a.m. today, March 3, 2001, at St. John Lutheran Church in Galva, with Pastor Paul Egger officiating.
Burial was in Lutheran Cemetery in Woodland, Wash. The Barker Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. Otto passed away Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, in Longview, Wash.
Darwin L.B., the son of Adolph and Lorna (Koth) Otto, was born Sept. 7, 1936, in Galva. He was born and raised on a farm near Galva. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith in 1936 by his uncle, Rev. A.E. Otto, at St. John Lutheran Church in Galva. He graduated from Galva High School in 1936. He then served three years in the United States Army.
In 1975 he was united in marriage to Denise Otto. Mr. Otto was employed for two years at the Galva Lumberyard and then he went to California and worked at Lockheer Aircraft Company for several years. He moved to Independence, Mo. and worked for the United States Census Bureau before moving to Houston, Texas, where he worked in a warehouse. Upon retiring, Mr. Otto, moved to Woodland, Wash. to be near his family.
He is survived by his wife Denise; one daughter Renee; step-children: Gerry, Christine and Betty; six grandchildren; three sons-in-law; one brother Virdene Otto and his wife Deanna of Galva and one sister Myrna Callison of Bellevue, Neb.
