Midwest Wireless, through its Community Caring Program, is giving $4,726 to the Storm Lake Public Safety Department Thursday to buy camera surveillance equipment for the new mobile command vehicle.
A presentation will be made at the Storm Lake fire station. The mobile command vehicle is deployed for special events, crime scenes, fire-related incidents, and other locations where public safety agencies will spend extended periods of time. The mobile command vehicle is available to respond anywhere in Buena Vista County upon request. The camera equipment will be used to monitor crowds, document evidence, and enhance the functions of the mobile command vehicle.
The Community Caring Program of Midwest Wireless provides resources to "organizations and endeavors with unquestioned integrity that effectively improve the quality of life to the people served."
