Alta eighth-grader Jessy Bibler tossed a two-hit shutout here Tuesday night, and got plenty of offensive support as the Cyclones cruised to an 11-0 win over Sac City.
The game was shortened to five innings via the ten-run rule. Bibler went the distance, walking just three and striking out eight.
The Cyclones got out of the gates quickly, scoring four runs in the first and adding five in the second and two in the fifth.
"This was a great win for us," Alta coach Ali Bahlmann said. "We played very solidly on both sides of the ball. We came out hitting in the first inning and scored some runs, then played good defense."
Alta registered 12 hits, with Bibler going 3 for 3 with three RBI. Kelsie Peterson added a two-run triple and scored twice, while sophomore Jahde Hammer went 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Sophomore Dee Hinkeldey went 2 for 4 with an RBI and scored twice, and senior Jen Mahr, Elissa Stevens and Emily Cameron all hit singles.
