The Storm Lake Police Department has announced its participation in the 2005 National Night Out 5:30-9 p.m. Aug. 3.
The National Night Out Program is an international program designed for neighbors to go out and meet each other and get to know newcomers to their neighborhoods. They also informally commit to each other that if suspicious activities or crimes are occurring in their neighborhoods they will call the police and report the incidents.
The Storm Lake Police Department is asking any area of the City that is planning a block party or who wishes more information about National Night Out to contact Capt. Bob Swanson at 732-8010 so the police department can assist you in coordinating the event.
