The Buena Vista County Board of Supervisors approved second readings of two rezoning requests Tuesday.
Second reading was approved of an ordinance request by Craig Wells in the Lakeside area. The rezoning will allow a second storage unit building on property Wells owns.
Also approved was second reading of a rezoning request by Farmer's Coop. The rezoning changes zoning of several parcels in Sulphur Springs from residential to industrial and agricultural to industrial. Farmer's Coop is requesting the rezoning for expansion of its grain facility at Sulphur Springs to accommodate a grain handling and storage facility.
The Board approved an underground utility permit application by Shelley Barker of Alta for a field tile system to resolve an ongoing drainage problem. Also approved were several underground utility permits for Iowa Telecomm.
The Board approved transfer of $6,889.56 in unspent Conservation budget dollars to the Land Acquisition Trust Fund. Also approved was a cigarette permit for the Little Sioux Country Club.
The Board received a petition from David Degner and other parties to resolve a drainage problem on the border of Buena Vista and Pocahontas counties and agreed to have Kuehl and Payer Engineering investigate the problem.
