ACCIDENTS

*An accident happened at the intersection of Lake Avenue and 10th Street shortly before 5:15 p.m. Tuesday. A 1990 Ford, driven by Emily Hotovec, 15, 895 570th Street, Storm Lake, was southbound on Lake Avenue, turning left onto 10th Street when a 1991 Toyota, driven by Natalie Gamache, 16, 5819 110th Avenue, Storm Lake, was northbound on Lake Avenue and the vehicles collided. Damage was estimated at $650 to the Hotovec vehicle and $900 to the Gamache vehicle.

*An accident occurred at the intersection of Lake Avenue and 5th Street at 9 p.m. Tuesday. A 1989 Buick, driven by Padget Smith, 16, Nemaha, was eastbound on 5th Street, turning left onto Lake Avenue when a 1991 Toyota, driven by Chitharath Tong, 18, Lakeside, was westbound on 5th Street and the vehicles collided. Smith was charged with Fail to Yield Upon Left Turn. Damage was estimated at $3,000 to the Smith vehicle and $1,000 to the Tong vehicle.

*An accident happened in the 300 block of Cayuga Street shortly before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. A 1989 Ford, driven by Sandra Tarango, 28, Storm Lake, was southbound on Cayuga Street when a 1999 Ford, driven by Jesus Gonzalez, 35, 207 Russell Street, Storm Lake, was backing from a parking space and the vehicles collided. Gonzalez was charged with Unsafe Backing. Damage was estimated at $300 to the Tarango vehicle and $200 to the Gonzalez vehicle.
