Sunday, May 1, at the Dollars for Scholars Awards Ceremony, MetaBank announced that Katie Larsen, St. Mary's High School is the recipient of the eleventh annual Touchdown Scholarship for $600. MetaBank selected Katie because of her high academic rank, work ethic, and participation in a variety of school and community activities. Katie's activities at St. Mary's High School include student body president, student council, member of the drill team, leadership, yearbook and newspaper editor. Katie plans to attend Simpson College, majoring in athletic training and education with a health endorsement.
MetaBank awards the Touchdown Scholarship to a Storm Lake or St. Mary's High School senior. Each time the Tornado varsity football team scores a touchdown during a home game, MetaBank donates $50 to the scholarship fund, with a maximum of $600.
MetaBank selects recipients with guidance from school administrators using the Dollars for Scholars application.

MetaBank also provided Touchdown Scholarships to high school students in Lake View, Laurens, Odebolt, and Sac City.
