Winning four of five relays and adding six individual first places, the Aurelia boys track and field team took first place here Tuesday in the Class B division of the Alta Relays.
The Bulldogs finished with 166 points to 131 for Ar-We-Va and 86 for third-place Odebolt-Arthur. Storm Lake-St. Mary's finished fifth with 27 points.
Individually, Jacob Bruce was a double winner for Aurelia, taking first in the 400 dash (53.6 seconds) and the 200 meter dash (23.92 seconds).
Senior Curtis Parker was also a two-event winner, taking gold in the 3200 meters (10:46.28) and the 1600 meters (4 minutes, 55.59 seconds.
Other first places for the Bulldogs were Ryan Fitzgerald in the shot put (47-2.75), Mike White in the 400 hurdles (61.7 seconds) and Jared Bruce in the 800 meters in 2:14.51.
Fitzgerald added a second in the discus (121-2.5) and Garrett Hill finished second in both the 3200 meters (10:50.75) and the open 800 (2:17.07). Jared Bruce was second in the 1600 meters in 4:59.38.
Kyle Doherty added a third in the 100 dash (12.14 seconds) and Kyle Glienke a third in the 200 meter dash (25.68 seconds).
The Bulldogs' 4x800 relay team of Chris Mikos, Aaron Hinkeldey, Jacob and Jared Bruce won with a meet record time of 8:46.86.
The 4x200 team of Glienke, White, Mikos and Doherty took first in 1:40.30 and the 4x400 team of Jacob Bruce, Mikos, Parker and White won in 3:44.36.
Aurelia's 1600 medley team of Glienke, Doherty, Hinkeldey and Parker was first in 3:57 and the 4x100 team of Hinkeldey, White, Glienke and Doherty second first in 48.22 seconds.
