Holton, Demers pace Alta boys golfers to NW win

Adam Holton shot a 40 and teammate Jeff Demers added a 41 here Tuesday to lead Alta to first place in a Northwest Conference golf meet hosted by Schaller-Crestland,

Alta won a close team competition, finishing with 170 strokes to 171 for Sac City, 173 for defending champ Newell-Fonda, 184 for Sioux Central, 189 for fifth-place Aurelia, 195 for sixth-place Storm Lake-St. Mary's, 197 for Pomeroy-Palmer and 216 for Schaller-Crestland.

Also for Alta, Jon Weiland posted a 43, Joey Post a 46 and Mark Robb and Tyler Boyd both shot 47's.

Newell-Fonda was led with a 39 from Austin Vanderhoff, followed by a 43 from Matt Spaulding, a 45 from Jared Neppl, 46's from Spencer Baak and Andrew McLaughlin and a 49 from Tim Seagren.

Steve Sievers paced Sioux Central with a 42. Following were Cody McCall with a 45, Grant Middendorf with a 47, Mark Thompson and Brady Scheiber with 50s and Tyler Herrig with a 53.

Ryan Guthridge led Aurelia with a 34. Bryan Lemke and Nick Felten each added 48s, with Brad Jungers and Kolin Peterson firing 50s and Greg Kolpin a 452.

Tyrel Drey led Storm Lake-St. Mary's to fifth place with a 48, with teammate Nick Netsch adding a 49. T.J. Miller and Nate Gessner each carded 53s with Andy Dahm adding a 59.

Alec Kestel led Storm Lake-St. Mary's with a 45, while Tyrel Drey carded a 48, with teammate Nick Netsch adding a 49. T.J. Miller and Nate Gessner each carded 53s with Andy Dahm adding a 59.

Tyler Wendel and Bob Kestel led Schaller-Crestland with 52s, while Kyle Barlow shot a 55, Marcus Barlow a 57, Nick Franzkowiak a 60 and Collin Johnson 61.
