*An accident happened shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of East Milwaukee Avenue and Russell Street. A 1990 AMC, driven by Nicole Welle, 18, 1009 N. Walnut Street, Storm Lake, was heading east on East Milwaukee Avenue, turned north onto Russell Street and the vehicle left the roadway striking a crossing sign post on the east side of the street. Welle was charged with Failure to Maintain Control. Damage to the post, owned by the City of Storm Lake, was estimated at $75 and none to the Welle vehicle.
*A hit and run accident occurred in the 300 block of West 9th Street shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday. A 1994 Chevy, owned by Leona Pederson, 511 East Lakeshore Drive, Storm Lake, was parked on West 9th Street when an unknown vehicle struck it and left the scene. Damage to the Pederson vehicle was estimated at $1,200.
*An accident happened at the intersection of East 1st Street and Oneida Street. A 2000 Honda, driven by Khek Keovyphone, 37, 415 East Lakeshore Drive, Storm Lake, was traveling southbound on Oneida Street when a 1997 Dodge, driven by William Coates, 49, 125 Kenzy Street, Storm Lake, was traveling westbound on East 1st Street and the vehicles collided in the intersection. Coates was charged with Fail to Yield To Vehicle on Right. Damages were estimated at $3,000 to the Keovyphone vehicle and $2,500 to the Coates vehicle.
