Donald Wayne was born Aug. 1, 1925, in Storm Lake, the son of Carey Blair and Ethel Mae (Weger) Rollison. He lived in Storm Lake with his family until he was seven years old and then became a resident of the Woodward State Hospital. He moved back to Storm Lake on March 8, 1963, and resided at the Buena Vista County Care Facility, now known as Spectra Health Care.
Although Mr. Rollison didn't speak for much of his life, once he did begin talking it was hard to imagine him not being verbal. The staff will forever think of him as herding the ducks, raking the rocks in the drive and sweeping Sue's deck. He loved talking on the telephone and his many stuffed animals. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters: Albert, David, Virginia and Maxine.
Mr. Rollison was surrounded by so many friends and the other clients he lived with at the care facility. Staff members and their families became his surrogate family. The last few years he was welcomed into the Don Eades family, who acted as his guardian and friend, seeing him through many difficult situations.
