Bob Ohrlund and Gary Lalone, Co-Chairs of the Project AWAYSIS Fundraising Campaign in Storm Lake, announced Monday that the pledge total for the lakefront destination park development have gone over the $300,000 mark.
They credited the volunteers of the Fundraising Committee.
"Not only have these individuals donated a huge amount of time and energy to the campaign, they have backed up their commitment to AWAYSIS with significant financial contributions," Ohrlund said. "We are very pleased."
Those included are Ohrlund and Lalone, Co-Chairs; Wayne Forbes, Jack Spooner and John Dvergsten, Honorary Co-Chairs; Tom and Susan Fitzpatrick, Chairs of the Leadership Division; Ken and Jolene Davis, Chairs of the Pacesetter Division; Tim Pierce and Grace Ivey, Chairs of the Major Gifts Division; Craig Fratzke and Dick Hakes, Chairs of the Community Campaign; and Mike Wilson, Project Manager.
"The commitment these volunteers, their spouses and their families to ensuring that AWAYSIS becomes a reality is really exciting and rewarding," said Lalone. "We couldn't do it without them."
Volunteers are currently making calls to potential donors in the Leadership, Pacesetter and Major Gifts Divisions. The Community Campaign will kick off later this summer. According to Ohrlund and Lalone, "We are asking folks to consider a 'stop and think' contribution. This is the most important opportunity to come before the community in a long, long time. We need everyone's help to make it happen."
