Cherokee Aquatic Center receives $300,000 from Cherokee State Bank

Michael Hunter, President of Cherokee State Bank has announced the bank's stockholders are committing $300,000 toward the Cherokee Aquatics/Gillette Park Project, the announcement being made at the site of the planned project to a gathering mostly of local youth.

Washington High School freshmen and Roosevelt Elementary School fourth graders arrived at the pool Monday morning and sat in the empty and unusable wading pool as participants to the kick-off for fundraising.

The Cherokee Family Aquatics Center/Gillette Park renovation is projected to cost $3.6 million dollars when completed.
