Alta working with several prospects
The Alta City Council and the Municipal Utilities have sealed the deal on the purchase of 33 acres of land at a cost of a little over $7,100 an acre on the north edge of town. Total cost is $235,000.
The land, near Gull Wing, will be used for industrial development purposes, said Mayor Courtney Lytle.
The city has been working with several people interested in locating to the community to pursue new businesses, and wants to have land secured for potential development.
The names and types of business involved are not being released at this early stage in the discussions.
The land belongs to Steve Kettering and is currently being farmed by Dave Mortenson. The city has been working with Kittering for about a year to secure the land.
