As a result of her community efforts, she was honored to receive the 1999 Chamber Ambassador's Award, one of six recipients in 35 years. In 2002, Murray was awarded the coveted Distinguished Real Estate Instructor designation from the Real Estate Educators Association (REEA) recognizing her for her effective presentation style. She is the founder of the Professional Women's Resource Group.
"By focusing my topics on everyday issues related to career and life, my stories emerge to teach a lesson as well as tickle your funny bone," Murray commented. "Experiences that have shaped my life become fuel for the next presentation. It's about gaining perspective, insight, and making the most of my time on earth.
"Life, as they say, happens. At any time it can careen out of control and we simply hang on for the ride. This unexpected side trip usually occurs at the most inconvenient times ... and that's what makes each day just so darn interesting. I invite you to join me for an interesting, interactive, humorous journey."
