Drug sweep nets 11 in BV County

Charges pile up

A total of 11 people were arrested throughout Buena Vista County Thursday in a drug sweep by the Buena Vista County Joint Narcotics Unit.

The arrests were related to methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana. Additional arrests are expected.

Officers from the Storm Lake Police Department, Buena Vista County Sheriff's Department, and Alta and Newell Police were took part in the various investigations and arrests.

Those arrested by the Buena Vista County Sheriff's Department included Tena Maysone Lovan, 19, of Storm Lake who was charged with two felony counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and one count of Aiding and Abetting Delivery of a Controlled Substance. She was booked into the county jail on a $195,000 cash bond.

Also arrested was Erik Eduardo-Maya Brito, 21, of Sioux Rapids who was charged with one felony count of Delivery of a Controlled Substance. He was jailed on a $65,000 cash bond.

Chuck Martin, 28, of Early was charged with one felony count of Aiding and Abetting Delivery of a Controlled Substance. He was booked into county jail on a $65,000 bond.

Heather Otto, 20, of Early was charged with one count of Aiding and Abetting Delivery of a Controlled Substance and was jailed on $65,000 bond.

Jason Sassman, 34, of Sioux Rapids was charged with three counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and jailed on $29,250 cash bond.

Those arrested by the Storm Lake Police Department included Brian Allen Miller, 28, of Storm Lake; three counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, jailed on a $35,000 cash bond; Lino Arreguin-Figueroa, 35, of Storm Lake, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Forgery, $11,700 cash bond; Steven Christiansen, 43, Schaller, Delivery of a Controlled Substance, $9,750 cash bond; William Stanley Jordan III, 42, Storm Lake, Possession of a Controlled Substance, $1,950 cash bond; Lisa Rench, 32, Storm Lake, Possession of a Controlled Substance, $1,950 cash bond; Bounving Chanthavysouk, 42, Storm Lake, Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, held in Hastings, Neb., where he was arrested Thursday on a $26,000 bond.
