Area students participate in teaching program

Four Storm Lake area students are among the 40 Buena Vista University students who are participating in the University's student teaching program this spring.

They include Jeffrey Brennan, Storm Lake, a senior majoring in biology; Sara Carlson, Storm Lake, a senior majoring in English; Ana Davis, daughter of Paul and Janine Davis of Lakeside, a senior majoring in elementary education and Kirsten Doebel, daughter of Tim Holden, Storm Lake, a senior majoring in history.

Brennan is student teaching in the ninth through 12th grade under Ty Seaman at Storm Lake High School and ninth through 12th grade under Bob Rehder and Brian Wilden at Newell-Fonda High School

Carlson is student teaching ninth through 12th grade under Tricia Wiese at Storm Lake High School and in the ninth through 12th grade at Schaller-Crestland High School under Mary Kaye Wandrey.

Davis is teaching in the second grade under Kellen Baird and in the fourth grade under Sheryl Collett at Prairie Heights Elementary School in Cedar Rapids.

Doebel is teaching seventh through 12th grade history under Bill McCabe at Albert City-Truesdale and seventh through 12th grade history under Brian Morgan at Aurelia High School.

The student teaching program is directed by Dr. Dennis Lamb, assistant professor of education at BVU.
