The Tornado Mat Club will play host to a youth wrestling tournament Saturday, Feb. 12 at the Storm Lake Middle School.
Matches will be held in four age divisions, including PeeWee for kindergarten through second graders (maximum of age 9), and Bantam, which includes grades 3 and 4 with a maximum age of 11.
The two other divisions are Juniors, which includes fifth sixth graders (maximum age of 13), and Seniors, for grades 7 and 8 with a maximum age of 15 allowed.
Weigh-in for K-fourth grades will be from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. while weigh-ins for participants in grades 5-8 will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The starting time for K-4th grade matches is 9 a.m. while participants in grades five through eight will be at noon, approximately.
Entry fee is $10 and must be postmarked no later than Feb. 5. All entries at the door will be $15.00, with no refunds. The entry fee does not include insurance and the number of entries is limited to 250.
The format of the tournament will be four-man round robin brackets. Medals will be given to first through fourth places.
Participants are asked to be within three pounds of registration weight before bracketing.
