The Carson & Barnes 5-ring circus once again visits Storm Lake with its traditional, family-friendly performances. One of the few big circuses to still perform under the traditional circus tent, Carson & Barnes will erect their block-long arena May 10 at the Storm Lake Municipal Airport.
Shows will be 4 p.m. and 10 p.m., with 40 acts coming to Storm Lake.
Local schools, families and visitors are invited to watch the big top go up, with the help of the circus elephants. There's no extra charge to see the many animals exhibited on circus morning, including tigers, elephants, hippos and a rhino.
The acrobats, clowns and a special historic equine show will entertain the crowds.
Over 5000 people can fit inside the big top.

The Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers to help with parking on the day of the circus, and businesses to sponsor the ticket sales.
Carson & Barnes visits 230 towns and cities each season, moving to a new site nearly every day, seven days a week. Emphasis is on bringing family entertainment to America, and keeping circus traditions alive.
More than 80 trucks move the circus, which includes 100 animals. Performers come from around the world, including the United States, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Russia and Italy.
