ACCIDENTS

A hit and run accident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. last Friday and 6:30 a.m. last Saturday in the 100 block of East 7th Street when the Iowa Office Supply building was struck by an unknown vehicle which left the scene. Damage to the exterior wall and shelving inside the building was estimated at $900.

An accident happened at the intersection of East 1st Street and Seneca Street at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday. A 1998 Pontiac, driven by Julie Smith, 41, 6310 150th Street, Storm Lake, was southbound on Seneca Street when a 1988 Cadillac, driven by John Morenz, 30, Newell, was westbound on East 1st Street, entered the intersection and the vehicles collided. Morenz was charged with Fail to Yield to Vehicle on Right. Damage was estimated at $500 to the Smith vehicle and $800 to the Morenz vehicle.

A hit and run accident occurred in the 600 block of Cayuga Street an an unknown time on Tuesday. A 1992 Dodge, owned by Nazario Flores-Gomez, 718 Walnut Street, Storm Lake, was parked on Cayuga Street when it was struck by an unknown vehicle which left the scene. Damage to the Flores-Gomez vehicle was estimated at $500.

An accident happened at the intersection of Rose Lane and Expansion Blvd. shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday. A 1985 Chevy, driven by Demaras Newell, 45, 827 Iowa Street, Storm Lake, entered the intersection from Rose Lane when a 1988 Chevy, driven by Brian Maxson, 17, 1001 Russell Street, Storm Lake, was southbound on Expansion Blvd. and the vehicles collided. Damage was estimated at $400 to the Newell vehicle and $500 to the Maxson vehicle.

A hit and run accident happened in the Fitzpatrick Chevrolet north parking lot, 1301 Lake Avenue shortly after 12:15 p.m. Thursday. A 2000 Chevy, owned by Dana Vennink, 917 East 5th Street, Storm Lake, was parked in the parking lot when it was struck by an unknown vehicle which left the scene. Damage was estimated at $900 to the Vennink vehicle.

VANDALISM

On Sunday, the Mexican Bar at 200 East Railroad Street, Storm Lake, reported a window broken at the bar. Damage was estimated at $20.

The Storm Lake Middle School, 1811 Hyland Drive, Storm Lake, reported two ping pong table net brackets damaged on Tuesday. Damage was estimated at $175.

On Wednesday, Video Warehouse, 714 Lake Avenue, Storm Lake, reported covers to seven video tapes were damaged sometime between Jan. 1 and Jan. 31. Damage was estimated at $70.
