The Cherokee Daily Times and the Cherokee Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness committee will be sponsoring their annual Cherokee County Ag Show from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at Western Iowa Tech.
Over 50 exhibitors are expected to be on hand at this year's Ag Show, many being ag based businesses. Three speakers will be addressing those in attendance , the first being members from the Little Sioux Corn Processors, who will present an ethanol plant update at 10:30 a.m. Agricultural meteorologist Dr. Elwynn Taylor will present an informative presentation at 11 a.m. The 1 p.m. speakers will be John Lawrence and John Nelson. Lawrence is an extension livestock economist, associate professor of the Department of Economics and director of the Iowa Beef Center at ISU. Nelson is the vice president of the commodities division of the Livestock Marketing Association.
The Cherokee PRCA Rodeo board will be serving coffee and rolls in the morning, with a lunch served from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. The lunch is sponsored by Cherokee State Bank, Central Trust and Savings Bank, Valley Bank and Trust, American National Bank, Farmer Credit Service of America, Farmers State Bank, Heritage Bank, North Star Community Credit and First Trust and Savings Bank.
