The Storm Lake High wrestling team lost a pair of dual meets here Thursday night, losing 51-24 to LeMars and 61-15 to Spencer.
In the dual against LeMars, the Tornadoes got off to a good start, as 119-pounder Kelly Evans pinned the Bulldogs' Mitch Kessenich at 1 minute, 18 seconds of their match.
The Tornadoes increased the lead to 12-0 after Marc Wiley pinned Seth Dehoer at 1:58 in the 125 match.
But LeMars put together a string of seven straight wins and led 39-12. At 215, Storm Lake's Juan Flores won via forfeit and at 112 Tornado wrestler Michael Mast beat LeMars' Jacob Schearer via fall at 3 minutes to complete the night's matches.
In the next dual, Spencer won the first two matches but at 130, Wiley won his second match of the night with a 6-5 win over Spencer's Nick Hornby.
Storm Lake's Dustin Huffman added six points to the Storm Lake total in the next match, pinning Paige Strom at just eight seconds of their match.
At 145, Storm Lake's Tony Bedel won via fall, pinning Spencer's Scott Anderson at 1:40 of their match. Spencer ran the table the rest of the way for the final margin, winning the next eight matches.
Storm Lake coach Ty Seaman commented on his team's performance.
"We were not very good with the fundamentals that we have worked on all season and that really hurt us," he said. "We also need to be more intense, and wrestle with more desire."
