STORM LAKE - Jill Kestel finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds to help power Storm Lake St. Mary's to a 57-29 win over Sioux Central in a Northwest Conference game Tuesday night in Storm Lake
St. Mary's, now 5-13 overall, jumped out to a 14-6 lead after the first quarter before extending it to 24-11 by halftime. It was 38-20 entering the fourth period.
Megan Kestel added 18 points and five rebounds for the Panthers. Peggy Ploeger contributed five assists, five steals and five rebounds, while Kassie Drey had five assists and three blocked shots.
Bri Barber added five rebounds and Jen Petersen three steals for the Panthers, who were 26 of 56 from the field for 47 percent.
Holly Beacom scored 13 points to lead Sioux Central, which was 9 of 50 from the field for 19 percent.
"Offensively and defensively this was our best performance of the season," St. Mary's coach Ryan Berg said. "We put it all together. We moved the ball well offensively and found the open people and got easy baskets."
