St. Mary's Schools will be celebrating Homecoming 2001 Feb. 5-10 with the theme, "Takin' the Cyclones Downtown." Each day of the week will feature fun activities and a lot of school spirit.
The week will begin with students and some of the faculty and staff wearing pajamas on Monday in celebration of "Late for Work" day.
Tuesday will feature "Touring around the Conference" day where students will don Hawaiian or tropical wear. Class competitions are also scheduled to begin prior to the 11:30 a.m. dismissal.
"Welcome to Hickville" will be the theme for Wednesday. Lip sync competitions will get underway at 11 a.m. and decorating the hallways will also begin.
Students will dress up in costumes of movie characters on Thursday to fit the "Hollywood Nights" theme. At 7 p.m., the crowning of the homecoming king and queen will be held in the school gymnasium. Also during the coronation ceremonies, the winners of the lip sync competitions will be performing.
Friday's "Hometown Pride" will have students showing school spirit and wearing their Panther black and white. A school pep rally will be held at 2:45 p.m. The varsity basketball game at the Panther Pit will feature St. Mary's against the Alta Cyclones. The girls' game will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the boys' game to follow.
The week of activities will culminate with a homecoming dance Saturday evening at the school.
