Led by 13 kills from Holly Leyden and nine from Jenny Mahr, the Alta volleyball team beat Sioux Central here Thursday night in a Northwest Conference volleyball game.
The Cyclones won the match, 21-25, 25-18, 25-19 and 25-21.
"This was a great match tonight," said Alta coach Jeannie Henningsen. "Both teams played excellent volleyball which made for a fun match all the way around.
"We finally got our offense on track and started to get some kills. Our seniors should be extremely proud of their last home match. Holly, Jenny, Lisa and Kayla have given us outstanding leadership all year. I thought they all came through tonight with each of them doing what we needed to win."
Sophomore Deidre Hinkeldey added nine kills for the Cyclones, while Sierra Phipps added two. Setter Emily Cameron notched 24 set assists.
In serving, Leyden was 21 of 22 from the line, Kayla Suhr 13 of 14, Jahde Hammer 11 of 12 and junior Jess Hirschman nine of nine. Leyden was also productive in notching eight ace serves for Alta.
Leyden and Mahr each finished with six digs while Hammer added five. Hinkeldey finished with five blocks.
