Funeral services for Arthur Buchholz, 87, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Zion Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, with Pastor Tom Egger officiating.
Casketbearers were Curtis Endreson, David Endreson, Michael Endreson, Tracy Endreson, Jeremy Hill and Mark Kuball. Honorary casketbearers were Tara Girard, Aneko Kuball and Jana Endreson.
Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Storm Lake.
Mr. Buchholz passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, at his home in Storm Lake.
Arthur Henry, the son of Fred H. and Ida (Hartje) Buchholz, was born July 11, 1913, on a farm near Storm Lake. He lived with his family on the farm and received his education at Zion Lutheran Parochial School.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he was baptized on July 27, 1913 and confirmed that baptism on April 10, 1927.
On Feb. 2, 1939, he married Erna Sievers at Zion Lutheran Church in Storm Lake.
He farmed, was a business owner and drove a school bus for the Albert City-Truesdale School until his retirement in 1988. His hobbies included bowling and woodworking.
Mr. Buchholz was preceded in death by his parents; one son Virgil; one brother Raymond and one sister Paula Madison.
He is survived by his wife Erna of Storm Lake; one son Allan and his wife Darlene Buchholz of Maple Grove, Minn.; two daughters: Sandra and her husband Eugene Endreson of Jackson, Minn. and Sharon and her husband Darwin Zoch of Storm Lake; one brother Walter and his wife Leone Buchholz of Truesdale; four sisters: Dora Kruse, Alma Boettcher, Leona Boettcher and Lea Gaes, all of Storm Lake; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
