An accident happened in the Wal-Mart parking lot, 1280 North Lake Avenue shortly before 1 p.m. last Friday. A 1995 Mercury, driven by Donna Hays, 23, of Albert City, was parking in the parking lot when a 1990 Buick, driven by Delfino Vargas, 30, of Storm Lake, struck the Hays vehicle. Damages were estimated at $400 to the Hayes vehicle and $100 to Vargas vehicle.
An accident happened in the Storm Lake High School parking lot, 621 Tornado Drive, at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Saturday. A 1986 Buick, owned by Brian Beal of Storm Lake was parked in the parking lot when it was struck by an unknown vehicle. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $300.
An accident happened at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Tornado Drive and Oneida Street. A 1995 Mercury, driven by Luis Espana, 37, 815 East 1st Street, Storm Lake, was stopped westbound on Tornado Drive behind a non-contact vehicle. A 1992 Chevy, driven by Cory Knoll, 16, 6010 Redwood Drive, Storm Lake, was westbound behind the Espana vehicle. Knoll was unable to stop due to the icy roadway and struck the Espana vehicle. Damages were estimated at $100 to the Knoll vehicle and $800 to the Espana vehicle.
An accident happened 100 feet north of College Avenue and West 4th Street shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday. A 1999 Ford, driven by Jon Wacha, 27, 401 East Milwaukee Avenue, Storm Lake, was northbound on College Avenue. A 1989 Chevy, driven by Janelle Lundberg, 18, 724 Linden Lane, Storm Lake, was southbound on College Avenue. A non-contact vehicle was parked along the street making for a narrow lane. The Lundberg vehicle applied the brakes but started to skid and the vehicles collided. Damage was estimated at $100 to the Wacha vehicle and none to the Lundberg vehicle.
Kum and Go, located at 825 Flindt Drive, Storm Lake, reported the theft of unleaded gas on Saturday, valued at $9.01.
Luis Vasquez, 120 Highway Street, #10, Storm Lake, reported a burglary to his vehicle while parked in the 200 block of East Railroad Street on Sunday. Taken from the vehicle was a CD player with an estimated value of $250.
